Brain Shower: gain clarity with critical thinking
“The essence of the independent mind lies not in what it thinks, but in how it thinks.” - Christopher Hitchens
Do you feel overwhelmed with vast quantities of information in today’s world? How successful are you in environments that are increasingly fast paced and complex? In order to thrive in such environments, we need to keep focus and clarity of mind, when making right judgments and decisions. Ubiquitous examples of financial and organizational disasters of companies, alarming political decisions definitely call for re-evaluating the way we think and act.
What does it take to be efficient in such context? Critical thinking skills might help.
The study and practice of Critical thinking and argumentation, a vital skill in today’s society, enables us to investigate a situation, issue, or problem and helps to arrive at a reasonable conclusion. It focuses on developing skills, such as clearly identifying a problem, revealing the structure of the argument, assessing the credibility of sources and learning to construct a sound line of reasoning.
In this interactive workshop we shall discuss and practice:
- What is critical thinking and why is it important to talk about it
- How a bad judgment is formed and how to prevent it
- How to structure your arguments and increase focus and clarity of thinking
- How to make the right judgements and decisions
